Road Bike Pedals

If you're not sure what makes a bicycle a 'Road Bike' (surely they all go on the road!) then not to worry; the term refers to bikes that are often call 'racing bikes' with drop handlebars and ultra-thin seats and wheels. If you ride one of these then you'll usually ride with what are known as 'clipless pedals' whereby your pedals are fixed to the pedals whilst you're cycling along to make you more efficient. There are a number of manufacturers that make these types of pedals and because you have to fit the matching 'cleats' to your cycling shoes, you're not able to switch easily between pedal types - a bit like the way different software companies don't talk to each other.
