Bells & Mirrors

Neither Bells nor Mirrors are legal requirements in the UK (although some have tried to make them so!) but for those riding the busy suburban streets they can extremely useful. Bells are particularly useful for warning pedestrians when riding along 'shared' spaces (but don't leave it till the last minute!). Mirrors should be used in conjunction with the potentially lifesaving 'look over the shoulder' (just as car drivers are taught to do); there are always blind spots.
