Rim Tape
If you're not sure what this is then next time you remove your tyre to mend a puncture, take a look inside the rim of your wheel; you'll see a thin tape that runs tightly inside the rim and which covers the holes where the spokes go through. Whilst it may look inconspicuous, it performs a very important role in preventing punctures from the sharp edges of the spoke holes. The rim tape will stretch after time and so you'll need to replace it.
